Solidoodle 2 Announced

this is incredibly tempting. 6"x6" prints, so they are a good size and you could always print multiple pieces for something bigger. $549, so a very obtainable pricepoint. Preassembled, and good software so it's easy to use. Now just need a reason to have one.

Could book publishing suffer the same fate as the comic book industry? [Futurism]

I could see that. There's a relatively new (couple years old) Barnes and Noble that was built on to one of the malls in Grand Rapids. It's a very nice building. Ceiling is two stories high in a good portion of the store. There are two escalators coming and going to the second floor, and every time I walk in there it just seems so ancient. Why would I buy books? I could download these to the tablet or ereader so much faster and easier. Sure occasionally buying a few actual books is a nostalgic novelty. I plan on buying the third Darwyn Cook Parker Graphic Novel in a few weeks, but y'know what, I'll probably read the novel itself on my tablet. The actual print book will likely just sit on my shelf as an heirloom.
