» The next thing. Riches and fame. Walk the street. Everyone knows your name. Growth, more, keeping score. Opportunity knocks? To read the meter, update the bill, keep the score. Make out a check, lick a stamp, good for 30 more. Sign-up on-line, draw it out, directly, correctly, save you time. The next thing. Be a star.

» Code Monkey (Like Fritos) by Jonathan Coulton, great MP3 I just found on Slashdot. Link above to MP3 was working when posted... if not try the article there were torrents (haven't tried this one) posted as well. Song is released under Creative Commons License (ie: you can download it, it's ok, you're not pirating anything;)

If you like The Office or Office Space you'll enjoy this song.

Someone on the site had posted the lyrics too. They are below:

I didn't get a chance to see the artist's site... Slashdot seems to have melted his server. But maybe it will come back up again in a few days.

*Disclaimer: There's a "Manager Rob" at my place of employment. Not my manager, although he was once... if he comes across this page, remember that I didn't write the song and be assured that when I'm singing along to the above, I replace the word Rob with Bob (there are no manager Bob's at my work).

» Smallville has been on about two season too many. Lately product placement has been getting quite bad on the program as well. There was that horrendous episode where Lois gets a new car and viewers were treated to the worst episode long Ford car ads ever, but this week's episode where Lex Luthor uses AOL for all his correspondence with his mercenaries, well come-on. Seriously?

» On a lighter note, here's a girl nude covered in Peeps (SFW). Merry Easter.

» Five then Two. Nine then Five. Think outside the box. The calendar is made of little squares. Five then Two. Nine then Five. Twenty-eight, Twenty-nine, Thirty, or Thirty-one then start again, Twelve times. Look ahead, always look ahead. More. Go for Five, then Go for Two. Go Go Go.

Random Non-Sequiters

» So um yeah, I just had the past 5 days off. To paraphrase Office Space. "I did absolutely nothing and it was everything I thought it could be."

Let's Go Surfing

» Only in America can an article be written by a respected columnist attempting to drum up sympathy for the fact that a man worth 14 billion dollars hasn't gotten a fair shake. What beneficial or practical application could any one individual actually use 14 billion for anyway? Do you really need to own a professional football team and a professional basketball team as well as putting spaceships into orbit too?

» Go take a look at thes parodies of The More You Know PSA's featuring The Office cast. The office romance, smell, and $9 beer ones are especially funny.

» Site called: Cliff Drawings features bunches and bunches of professional comic artist sketches of characters on cliffs. Neat.

» The French will now be able to come home from their office drone jobs and slip into the release/escapism that is The Office or in their case Le Bureau which will recast the show with French actors and also begin with yet another retelling of the pilot episode.

» Lyrics for Cozy in the Rocket the theme song for Grey's Anatomy.

» Cool Photoshopping together of 25 of the worlds tallest buildings into one skyline

» Watched Season 1 of Grey's Anatomy on DVD this past week. First DVD of the set very ERish. But the second DVD/later-half of Season 1 got much more into the interpersonal drama that is the staple of the second season. Anyway, very good show. The ensemble cast is very strong. The show in many ways is a good replacement for Friends (in its more serious moments). If you liked ER/Friends/Ally McBeal this would be a good DVD to rent and then series to start watching.

» There was a comic book tie-in on tonight's episode of Grey's Anatomy, in so much as Chris O'Donnel (The movie Robin of Batman and Robin) has joined the cast (temporarilly?)

Comments on Comics

» Continuing to enjoy pretty much all the DC books 1 Year Later. Green Lantern #10 was an especially good book. Also enjoyed Hal's appearance in Action Comics #837 (Although I'd be suprised if they did much with that last panel teaser. It makes sense though doesn't it?) Although I liked the art in Blue Beetle #1, I'm not sure I'm digging the powers much. Mind you the Armor design is fine.... just the configurable nature of it doesn't really work for me. BB may be my next DC casualty 1 year later, but I'll give it a few more issues yet. Hawkgirl #50, not bad. Not sure the coloring style works with Chaykin's art but the story isn't too bad. Manhunter #20, I really should drop this book, but it is odd, in a good way. JSA Classified #10 - Nice Vandal Savage story but that cover was abit misleading wasn't it? I commented on Catwoman #53 a week or so ago but I've been wanting to post the panel above for anyone who missed it.

» I noticed today that Marvel has a "TM" next to Civil War on their covers. I wonder if they'll be suing IRAQ any time soon? And the Franklin Mint better think twice about continuing that Chess Set!

Let's Go Surfing

» OMG! Slashdot was awesome today!

» 80's revivals continue with Marvel resurecting Secret Wars with a new series titled Beyond. Three reasons I'll probably get this one though: Scott Kolins, Dwayne McDuffie, and the fact that it's mostly populated by lesser known characters like: The Hood.

» They don't want to grow up. Interesting 8 page article on the supposed loss of the generation gap and an adult culture that is as much focused on the youth culture of today as the previous generation focussed on it's 'own' youth culture.

» Insightful essay on MySpace's success and Friendster's lost steam.

» Project Rooftop a site that is trying to capitalize on the recent Batgirl drawing meme success by creating a forum for creators to redesign existing superhero's costumes.

» Leet speak entry in Wikipedia. Worth it just to see the picture of a 1337 bid on The Price is Right.

I don't spell check and my grammar, sentence and paragraph structure on this site leave alot to be desired. Most times I forget to go back and reread a post to see if it makes sense. Sometimes I type the word "Fnck". Flip the "n" over... I don't have a problem with the word myself, I just type it that way to slip it past overzealous work censorship programs and for the benefit of those that are sensitive to that sort of thing.

You should not...

this site doesn't cost me anything.
